Michelle Beaumont, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a deep commitment to the well-being of my clients, I'm dedicated to creating a therapeutic experience that feels like a genuine conversation, as if held over a cup of coffee. My mission is to hold a safe, comfortable, and welcoming space for you to process and navigate the challenges that led you to embark on your journey of therapy and self-exploration.
I believe that therapy is a deeply personal journey, unique to each individual. The foundation of this journey is the therapeutic relationship, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you so I can provide the support you need. My work has primarily been with adults, age 25+. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and I embrace diversity and nurturing the authenticity of self. My preferred pronouns are she/her/hers.
My therapeutic style is strengths-based, solution-focused, collaborative, and supportive. I draw from various modalities, including DBT, CT-R, CBT, and mindfulness, to tailor our sessions to your unique needs. I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and have expertise in helping clients regulate complex emotions and navigating the constant of change, life transitions and adjustments. I also have experience working with relationship issues, setting and upholding boundaries, navigating through and healing from trauma, and coping effectively with the stressors of everyday life.
Experience: I earned my Bachelor's Degree of Science in Social Work from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and my Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. With a career spanning back to 2014, my professional background includes extensive experience in the field of social work. I began as a transplant social worker at UPMC, assisting patients and their families through the pre-transplant process. I have helped individuals cope with complex emotions, including anxiety, depression, grief, and motivation in the context of major health-related transitions.
Currently, I have the privilege of serving our nation's veterans as a clinical social worker at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System in the Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center. Here, I provide group psychotherapy and individual treatment planning, specializing in supporting veterans along their recovery journey. My expertise extends to working with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and various mood disorders.
Welcome to your therapeutic journey. I'm looking forward to meeting you and walking on this path of self-discovery, healing, and wellness together. I'm here to support and empower you, and I'm glad you've taken this courageous step.
