Over time, emotional pain can present itself as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, addiction disorders, physical disorders and in a variety of other ways. It can also cause internal struggles as patterns of unhealthy behaviors emerge. By understanding your feelings, beliefs and behaviors, that may have been formed in childhood, a person can begin to feel better. And, by becoming more self-aware and trying to make changes, healing can take place.  To do these things takes courage and a therapist can help to share in the process. I believe that this holistic approach to therapy helps people on their road to self-discovery, healing and growth.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families.  I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. I have worked most of my professional life in community mental health in the Pittsburgh area. I have extensive experience and training working with people of all ages who have depression, anxiety, grief and loss issues, trauma from their past, and with those who have medically complex issues. I also have training and experience working with older adults, helping them find enjoyment and meaning in life as they adjust to life’s changes.

I am a culturally sensitive therapist who values every person’s uniqueness. I consider it a privilege to share the journey of self-growth and healing with my clients. I have been fortunate to work with many people as they have come to terms with their stress, fears and anxieties, to help them become at peace with issues from their past and to assist as they mend family relationships.
