Therapy can be a powerful tool for gaining clarity and learning different styles of coping. I have always been interested in discovering what shapes our view of the world, what motivates us, and how we make the decisions we do. How does our upbringing and environment affect our self-image and self-esteem? I am a listener, an advocate, a helper, a teacher and a learner. I collaborate with clients to navigate difficult situations and find realistic solutions. Providing guidance in a supportive, client-therapist relationship is key to gaining insight and moving forward. I am also an animal lover and believe in their ability to heal and provide support to us.

I earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology and criminal justice at Kent State University in 1996. During my employment at the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office in Columbus, Ohio, I was privileged to work with child and adult survivors of crime. I helped individuals navigate the criminal justice system, supporting them through the interview and trial process, as well as access resources. I worked at Legal Aid for Children/ KidsVoice, representing abused and neglected children of Allegheny County for ten years.  In 2004, I received my Master's of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. I have worked in private practice, community mental health centers, emergency departments, and on hospital medical floors. I have experience counseling adults and teens with depression, anxiety, trauma related disorders, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse issues.
